Join the ISSO for our annual 4-day trip to the nation's capital, Washington, D.C.!

Saturday, March 31st - Tuesday, April 3rd



BUS Pick-up Points:

Participants must provide hard copy of ticket and show ID.

A: 6:45 am - Green Street Bus Shelter (Downtown)

B. 7:00 am - Hasbrouck Community Center (North Campus)

C. 7:20 am-Baker Flag Pole on West Avenue (West Campus)

D. 7:30 am-Schwartz Performing Arts Center (Collegetown)

Ticket Price: $305 per person for accommodations in dormitory style (same gender) room.


TICKET PRICE includes: - Transportation to and from Washington, D.C.; - Admission to the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland; - Lodging in Washington; and scheduled group activities including: - Guided "monuments and memorials" tour of the city" -transportation to Smithsonian Museums, National Zoo, Georgetown (home of Georgetown University and many historical attractions).

We will collect a tip for bus driver on the way back to Ithaca. Recommended amount per person is $1 but there is no obligation.

CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY: Deadline is Tuesday, March 20. A full refund is available if the ticket holder cancels, and requests a refund on or before Tuesday, MARCH 20. No refunds are available after this date. To CANCEL, send an email request to and the refund will be processed within a few business days.

There will not be a WAITLIST available for this trip. After the cancellation date, there may be additional tickets available for purchase. Check back at that time.


LODGING: We will be staying at Hostelling International at 1009 11th St. NW. Situated near most of the tourist attractions. HI-Washington DC ( provides friendly, inexpensive lodging with dormitory style accommodations with separate quarters for males and females. Dorm will accommodate between 4-6 people in each room. Roommate Preference: you will be able to indicate roommate preferences when you sign up online. You are not guaranteed your choice of roommate as ISSO reserves the right to assign lodging in a way that will best suit the needs of the entire group.

NOTE: The nature of this trip may prove difficult for young children or elderly people. We will have long and busy days, with lots of walking. If you'd like to talk about bringing a child, or if you have any special requests or questions, please contact Adam at 255-5243 or email


Saturday, March 31st

Meet the bus at selected pick up point listed above. Must have hard copy of the ticket and show ID. 7:40 am - Depart Ithaca. Around 9:30 or 10 am there will be a rest stop for breakfast. 1:30 pm - Arrive in Baltimore, Maryland and have lunch on Pier. 2:45 pm - Admission to National Aquarium. 5:15 pm - Board bus for Washington D.C. arrival time around 6:30 pm - Check in at Hostelling International. No scheduled evening events.

Sunday, April 1st

8:45 am - Meet in Hostel Lobby for Guided D.C. tour. 9:00 am -1:30 pm - Guided orientation tour of downtown D.C. Tour will end at Smithsonian Castle (center of the Mall). Participants will also have the option to be dropped off in Georgetown and the National Zoo. Free time for the rest of the day. Possible places to visit include the National Gallery of Art, the Natural History Museum and the Air and Space Museum, the Supreme Court and much more! Most of these places are free and many have public tours.

Monday, April 2nd

No planned events for the day.

Tuesday, April 3rd

Meet Trip Leaders in the lobby with your luggage. You must check in with us at this time. (Let us know if you will not be taking the bus back to Ithaca.) 9:15 am - Bus departs Hostel for drop off at U.S. Capitol and Smithsonian Castle (center of the Mall). 1:45 pm - Board the bus at the Smithsonian Castle. 2:00 pm - Bus departs D.C. Midway home, we will stop for a meal. Arrival time back in Ithaca will be around 10 pm. Drop off will be in reverse order of pickup.

TRIP WAIVER OR RELEASE AGREEMENT: When purchasing your tickets online, by clicking the "Checkout" button you are agreeing to the Trip Release Agreement or Waiver. By signing up and participating in this trip, you will be waiving and releasing all claims for injuries you might sustain arising out of this activity and holding the University harmless from claims a minor child might have. Please be aware that this is an unsupervised activity, and you are solely responsible for supervision and safety on this trip. Cornell is just arranging for the transportation on a not-for-profit basis so as to provide the most cost effective way for you to enjoy this opportunity. Further, without this agreement and its assumed enforceability, this activity would not be possible or the cost would be higher. In exchange for the lower cost to you and your family invitees, you are agreeing not to sue the University for arranging this trip for you.

If you are purchasing tickets for family members, or guests, a hard copy of the release agreement will need to be signed by them, and then submitted to B-50 Caldwell Hall no later than a week before the trip.
